Round Lake Heights is located on the edge of Round Lake Beach in the northwestern part of the county. It was incorporated in 1960.
Recreation
Round Lake Heights participates in the Round Lake Area Park District. Shag Bark Park is located within the village limits.
Schools
Lake Villa Elementary School District #41, Round Lake Unit School District #116, and Grant High School District #124 serve the village. Students living in the northern portion of the village attend District #41 for grade school and District #124 for high school. District #41 has an enrollment of 2,457 students and District #124 has an enrollment of 990 students. Students living in the southern portion of the village attend District #116, which contains grades K-12. District #116 has an enrollment of 5,207 students. There are several parochial schools in the Round Lake area.
